TRUCKER TESTING SET AT SALEM CENTER

A mobile testing unit for commercial truckers who have not taken the exam for their commercial driver's licenses will be at the Salem Civic Center on April 27, 1-5 p.m., and April 28, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

The commercial license, standard nationwide, affects all drivers of commercial vehicles weighing 26,001 pounds or more, vehicles designed to carry 16 or more passengers, or vehicles carrying hazardous materials requiring placards.

The unit is sponsored by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles for the convenience of drivers who find it difficult to get to the DMV office on weekdays.
