EX-DEPUTY ON MARSHALS COUNCIL

A former chief deputy for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department has been appointed to the National Advisory Council of the United States Marshals Foundation.

Robert E. Colvin, who was a sheriff's deputy for 10 years until 1986, was named to the council last month by Winthrop P. Rockefeller, chairman of the Marshals Foundation.

Colvin has been executive director of the Virginia Crime Commission in Richmond since leaving the Sheriff's Department.

Other members of the council include Gene Autry, former cowboy star and singer, and James Arness, who played Matt Dillon in "Gunsmoke," Vice President Dan Quayle's special assistant, Col. Thomas Harvey, and U.S. Sen. Strom Thurmond, R-S.C.
