OBIT--GARRETT

Ashby Clarence Garrett, age 94, died April 12 at his residence in Buena Vista. He was a veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dora W. Garrett, Buena Vista; one daughter, Mrs. Edna G. Fleming, Alexandria; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Carrie Falls, Lexington; Mrs. Myrtle Chittum, Mrs. Edna H. Garrett, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Shafer, Mrs. Dora H. Painter, all of Buena Vista; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lomax Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home in Buena Vista.
