UVA STUDENTS STAGE APARTHEID SIMULATION

Students and some faculty members at the University of Virginia staged an Apartheid Simulation Day on Thursday to gain a deeper understanding into the policy of racial separation in South Africa.

To symbolize South African society, participants were divided into three groups: 15 percent were the elite, 10 percent were the military and 75 percent were the majority underclass.
