6-YEAR-OLD KILLED BY SCHOOL BUS

An Augusta County boy died on his sixth birthday when he rode his bicycle into the path of a county school bus, Virginia State Police said.

David Leon Churchill was pronounced dead at the scene Thursday, police said.

The boy was struck as he left a driveway on Virginia 621 near his home outside Waynesboro, police said.

The bus, driven by Deborah P. Holloway, 38, was making its afternoon run. Holloway, of Waynesboro, told police she did not see the child in time to stop. No charges had been filed.
