HEARING SET ON RULES FOR MARINAS, MOORINGS

A public hearing will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday on proposed changes to the Board of Health's sanitary regulations for marinas and boat moorings.

The proposed changes would:

Exempt certain marinas from providing boat sewage holding tank pump-out service.

Clarify requirements for added on-shore sanitary facilities because of public use of dry boat storage facilities.

Provide for possible reductions in sewage flows when permanent water-saving devices are used at boat mooring facilities.

Require signs on pump-out facilities indicating fees, restrictions and other instructions.

The hearing will be held at the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors' meeting room at 3738 Brambleton Ave.
