COLES SCORES 18 TO HELP SOUTH WIN 137-131

Virginia Tech standout Bimbo Coles scored 18 points and handed out 11 assists as the South defeated the West 137-131 in the Orlando (Fla.) All-Star Classic basketball event.

Gerald Glass of Ole Miss led the South with 21 points. Glass and Alaa Abdelnaby of Duke each shot 10 of 15 from the field.

Travis Mays of Texas led the West, scoring 27 points.

Earlier, Willie Burton scored 32 points and Felton Spencer added 29 to lead the Midwest to a 138-121 victory over the East.
