WINGFIELD, SILAS C.\ Silas Coleman Wingfield, age 82, of Rocky Mount, Va., departed this life Thursday, April 12, 1990, at Community Hospital. He was a faithful member of Truevine Baptist Church where he served as a devoted Sunday School teacher until failing health prevented him from attending. He joined I.J. McGuffin Masonic Lodge No. 313 in 1952 and served two consecutive terms as Wishful Master. He continued his duties as Past Wishful Master and received an honorary lifetime membership in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sarah M. Wingfield; one daughter, Rebecca W. McEnheimer, Roanoke; one son-in-law, Arthur McEnheimer, Christiansburg; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Saron McEnheimer Medley and the Rev. Perry Medley, Roanoke; three grandsons and two granddaughters-in-law, Arthur and Bertha McEnheimer, Rocky Mount; Alvin and Dondra McEnheimer, Radford; and George McEnheimer, Roanoke; four great-grandchildren, Tyron and Eric McEnheimer, Samaria Manns, and Anthony Lewis; a devoted nephew and niece, Carnis and Vera Poindexter, who treasured him as a father; three devoted sisters-in-law, Lillian P. Reese, Rachel Brown, and Alice Spurlock; two devoted brothers-in-law, George Poindexter and Posie Poindexter, all of Roanoke; two special family friends, Cleo Williams and Bessie Lewis, to whom he was a father image; a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Truevine Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Truevine Baptist Church.
