18-YEAR-OLD WOMAN DIES IN GRAYSON CRASH

An 18-year-old Independence woman died after her car struck an embankment in Grayson County early Saturday.

State Police said Sandra Kay Anderson was traveling on U.S. 58 at a high rate of speed when she lost control of her small pickup truck.

The vehicle traveled a long way on one shoulder of the road before careening across the highway and striking the bank. The truck spun several times.

Anderson died at the scene following the 2 a.m. accident.

Trooper G.J. McKenzie investigated the accident.
