TINA LIZA JONES TO LEAD FOLK MUSIC WORKSHOP

Local songwriter and musician Tina Liza Jones will present a workshop titled "Folk Music Sampler" at Riner Elementary School Thursday.

The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. The Blacksburg Regional Art Association is sponsoring it.

Jones will present music and sing-alongs using songs she and others have composed. She will explain each song's history, harmony, syncopation and the origin of each instrument she uses to perform.

Jones has recorded several albums, most notably "Birthday Cake by Tina Liza Jones and the Flying Cowboys" and "Three Forks of Cheat" with the folk group Trapezoid.
