EGGLESTON - Ennis Edward Short, Sr., age 73, died Monday, April 16, 1990, in Giles Memorial Hospital. Mr. Short was born in Ennis, W.Va. on May 1, 1916; and was the son of the late Robert L. and Bertha G. Short. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Eggleston Masonic Lodge #309; a member of the Kazim Shrine Temple of Roanoke; and a veteran of World War II. He was a retired employee of Hoechst-Celanese Corporation. He is survived by his wife, Ruth P. Short, Eggleston; two sons, Ennis E. Short, Jr., Charleston, S.C.; David L. Short, Winnabow, N.C.; one daughter, Delores S. Long, Leland, N.C.; two sisters, Frances Williams, Berton; Violet Kenny, Bell, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Givens Funeral Chapel, Pearisburg, with the Rev. Frank Perry officiating. Burial at Burchlawn Burial Park. Friends may call at Givens Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
