`HOGAN FAMILY' MOVING TO CBS

"The Hogan Family" - the family sitcom starring Sandy Duncan and Jason Bateman - is moving from NBC to CBS this fall, the show's producer, Lorimar Television, announced.

The series finished the 1989-90 network television season in 33rd place overall in the Nielsen ratings. That would have made it CBS' seventh-highest-rated show.

It was NBC's 15th-rated show and became available to CBS when NBC could not commit to a firm renewal by the early-option deadline specified in the network's contract with Lorimar.

"The Hogan Family" originally was called "Valerie" for series star Valerie Harper when it made its debut in March 1986. Harper left the show in 1987 after a dispute with producers.
