MAROONS HONOR DYSON, BROWN

Lacrosse players Dave Dyson and Mary Brown were honored Friday night as the Roanoke College athletes of the year.

Dyson, a senior from Seekonk, Mass., was a Division III lacrosse All-American the past two seasons and is a probable selection this season. After 12 games, Dyson is leading the eighth-ranked Maroons (8-4) with 33 goals. He also has 12 assists for the regular-season Old Dominion Athletic Conference champions.

Brown, a senior from Annapolis, Md., has 37 goals and 24 assists, leading the Maroons to a 13-0 record this season. The women's lacrosse team is ranked fourth in the nation in Division III. - Staff report
