RETREAT EASES CONFLICT

"Non-Adversarial Ways of Handling Conflict" will be the theme of an annual Camp Bethel retreat for religion professionals and their spouses.

The May 7 retreat will be led by Dr. Catherine Whitaker, who works in Radford and Roanoke, and the Rev. Clyde Carter of Daleville.

The program will begin with fellowship at 9 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m.

Whitaker will speak in the morning on general aspects of conflict resolution. She teaches at Radford University and works for Family Mediation Services in Roanoke.

Carter is a minister of the Church of the Brethren and a counselor. He has long been active in pacifist groups. His afternoon theme will be resolving conflicts between pastors and congregations.

The retreat costs $7. Registration is needed by May 1 and may be made by sending a check payable to the Roanoke Valley Ministers Conference to the Rev. Don McCaskill, 3536 Garden City Blvd. S.E., Roanoke 24014.
