WHO, WHEN & WHERE

Mind's Eye Performance

The Mind's Eye Performance Group from Nashville, Tenn., will perform "Realizations for Movement, Music, and Media" Monday at 8 p.m. in Playhouse 460 at Virginia Tech.

The original work of Mind's Eye fits loosely into the genre of movement theatre, with the addition of special effects, projections and original electronic music. It is almost totally non-verbal; the movement draws from the languages of a variety of mime and dance techniques.

Tickets for the performance are available at the Virginia Tech Box Office in the University Book Store on campus. Admission is $2 for all tickets. Box office hours are 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call 231-5615 or 231-5200.

Early Science Series

A series of classes will be offered for children in preschool through the first grade by the Science Museum of Western Virginia beginning Tuesday.

The classes are: "Feathered Friends," "How Does Your Garden Grow?" "Mother Knows Best," "Bug Me," "Back to the Pond," and "Some of My Best Friends are Reptiles."

Early-education specialist Kris Gayhart will teach the series. Enrollment is limited to 10 students per class. To register, call the programs assistant at 342-5710.

Aging lecture

"Aging is Everybody's Business" will be the topic of author Pat Moore's lecture Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Cave Spring High School Auditorium.

Moore is co-author of the book, "Disguised." For three years she traveled across the United States disguised as an elderly woman. She will share her experiences and insight on the issues of aging and homelessness during her lecture.

The talk is sponsored by the Junior League of Roanoke Valley.

Admission is free, but reservations should be made by calling the Junior League at 774-3242.
