TAKE CARE OF NATURAL RESOURCES

AS A STUDENT, I have become more aware of the importance of natural resources to our existence and our future. We must start conserving and taking care of our natural resources now.

At Smith Mountain Lake, I noticed trash had been thrown in the water. The lake appeared dirty, and the trash not only took away from its beauty, but also polluted the water and was harmful to fish and other wildlife.

The lake is a wonderful recreational spot, but if people don't start caring and stop polluting, it won't be for long. Let's show we care enough to really do something. JEFF McCRAY ROANOKE
