Tony McGuire, however, was in the middle of two major collisions in the race. McGuire collided with Orvil Reedy in the first lap, initiating a 10-car pileup. Reedy, Gerald Compton Rick Sigmon and Lowe Smith were knocked out of race as a result.
Defending champion Frankie Pennington of Lexington avoided the wreck and led the next 48 laps with McGuire close behind. But McGuire and Pennington hooked up in the third turn of final lap. Dickie Wilson of Salem spun out while attempting to go around the spinning cars.
Radford and Kenny Minner of Martinsville got past the wreck and Radford took the checkered flag by half-a-car length. Wilson backed across the finish line for third, followed by Pennington and M.E. Fink.
McGuire finished eighth.
In the Mini Stock race, Steve Dalton took the lead at the halfway mark and outran Roanoke's Sonny Arrington and Ray Bare for the victory. Martinsville's Chip Brunner, last week's winner, was disqualified for rough driving.
Chad Smith of Rocky Mount beat Brian Spangler and his brother George for the Six-Cylinder title.
Ray Young of Bassett won the Street Stock race, which also featured a disqualification. Ferrystone's Jay Foley was disqualified for not having the proper clearance for his car.
Barry Gearhart of Callaway won the Any Car division and Mike Dudley of Roanoke was second.
Winston Cup driver Darrell Waltrip is scheduled to run next Saturday at FCS. Admission is $5.
