HILLSVILLE - Nova Elmer Dalton, Jr., better known as Junior Dalton, owner and operator of the Junior Dalton Grocery Store located on Route 100, passed away Monday, April 23, 1990, at the Twin County Community Hospital, Galax. He was a member of the Hillsville Masonic Lodge, a member of the Roanoke Scottish Rite, and a member of Kazim Hillbilly Unit. He was born in Carroll County, December 23, 1923, a son of Nova Elmer Dalton, Sr. and Cayulah Thompson Dalton. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Ned and Theresa Dalton of Hillsville; a brother, Clevo Dalton of Hillsville; three sisters, Mrs. Versie Guinn, Mrs. Vada Huff, both of Hillsville; Mrs. Claudine Marshall of Woodlawn; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Flynn and the Rev. C. C. Mize officiating. Interment will be in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Hillsville Rescue Squad or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital, Greenville, S.C. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
