UNITED WAY TAPS THORNHILL TO HEAD FUND CAMPAIGN

Glenn O. Thornhill Jr. has been named chairman of this year's fund-raising campaign for United Way of Roanoke Valley.

Thornhill is president of Maid Bess Corp. in Salem and a member of the Salem School Board.

He also is president of the Roanoke Symphony Society and former president of the Chamber of Commerce of Salem-Roanoke County and the Salem Rotary Club.

United Way's valleywide campaign is to begin Sept. 11.
