United Airlines is flying past USAir to become California's dominant airline.

With the launch on Tuesday of shuttle flights each half hour between Los Angeles and San Francisco - almost double its current schedule - United's number of daily departures in California will rise to 366 from 344, compared with 356 for USAir and 283 for American. - San Francisco Chronicle
