COALFIELD SCHOOLS GET COAL-INDUSTRY MATERIAL

An educational program on the coal industry for schools in Virginia's coalfield counties has been prepared by the Virginia Coal Council, Virginia Coal Association, Virginia Mining and Reclamation Association and Appalachian Power Co.

It is available for use in conjunction with Earth Day and Earth Awareness Week activities.

Information on suggested activities, speakers, films, the coal industry and other materials has been sent to principals at schools in all seven of Southwest Virginia's coal counties with suggested activities for every grade level.
