PILOT LANDS AIRPLANE SAFELY ON INTERSTATE

The pilot of a single-engine plane that was having engine problems landed the craft on Interstate 64 near Richmond International Airport, police said.

No one was injured Sunday night when Ryland Fleet landed the 1976 Grumman American two-seater on the westbound lanes, said state police Sgt. E.L. Maxie.
