EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO OPEN ABINGDON OFFICE

A regional office for the state Department of Education will be opening in Abingdon, according to Secretary of Education James W. Dyke Jr.

Dyke announced the planned office at an educational forum last week at Southwest Virginia Community College near Richlands. He said he would be in the office at least twice a year.
