Vivian C. (Tick) Martin, age 81, of Hedgefield Apts., and formerly of the Huckleberry section of Max Meadows, passed away Monday. He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew C. Martin, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Winnie C. Martin, Wytheville; three sons, William Sherman Martin, Roanoke; Charles Danny Martin, Killeen, Texas; V.C. Martin, Wytheville; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Gray, Chesapeake, Va.; Mrs. Judy M. Stevens, Salt Lake City, Utah; ten grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m. in the Max Meadows United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the McGavock Cemetery in Max Meadows. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at the Gillman Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Max Meadows United Methodist Church Youth Classes. The remains will be placed in the church one hour before service time. Gillman Funeral Chapel in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
