FUND-RAISING DRIVE HITS $6 MILLION MARK AT TECH

The Virginia Tech Second Century Campaign has topped $6 million in contributions, chairman Joe Thomas Sr. reports.

The fund-raising drive, launched in January, is designed to raise $17 million for athletics by Dec. 31, 1992.

"We feel we are off to a very positive start," said Thomas, of Salem. "We are delighted by the response of friends and alumni."

The campaign is set up to raise $8.3 million for scholarships, $7.3 million for capital projects and $1.4 million for the athletic initiative fund. - Staff report
