$3.7 MILLION ACCEPTED FOR SCHOOLS WORK BID

The Wythe County School Board accepted a $3,767,000 low bid Wednesday from Swope Construction Co. of Bluefield, W.Va., for work at Fort Chiswell and Rural Retreat high schools.

The Fort Chiswell work includes a new library, business department and band room, expansion of agriculture and industrial arts shops, and renovation of science and computer laboratories, locker rooms and home economics areas. It is to be completed by fall of 1991.

Work at Rural Retreat includes renovation of the auditorium and landscaping around the building.
