I agree that the present incumbents are "moldy" and I recommend a change. A change for the better. What this council needs is somebody with the ability to make sound business decisions based on a successful business background. I think Macher is such a person.
Once again the A&P Building controversy was mentioned. I strongly disagree with the idea that Macher tried to jack up the price of the building to serve his own purpose.
Before he and his family purchased the building, it had been vacant for several years. Only after they had invested time and money creating 35 new jobs and a viable business did the city express an interest in purchasing the property. When Macher then tried to recoup some of the expense for the renovation, he was accused of "holding out" and trying to hurt the city.
If he was able to stand up to the city without being bullied or resorting to backroom decisions, just think what he can contribute to the City Council. I think Macher is the man to bring a new, fresher attitude. A man who can see us through to the 21st century.
