\ HILLSVILLE - Rufus S. Crowder, age 80, of Jett Street, passed away Thursday at the Radford Community Hospital in Radford. He was born in Carroll County, January 10, 1910, a son of William I. and Lou Veni Myers Crowder. He was a retired employee of H. D. Crowder Construction Company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Izetta Easter Crowder; daughters and sons-in-law, Arlene and Curtis White, Lois and Don Goad, both of Hillsville; Emma Lou and Thomas Hanks, Williamsburg; Janet Evelyn Crowder, Woodlawn; a son and daughter-in-law, Nelson Rufus and Linda Ann Crowder, Hillsville; one brother, Roscoe Crowder, Roanoke; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 29, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsville Christian Church, with the Rev. Charlie Mackey officiating. Interment will be in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.
