GYMNASTICS TRAINING CENTER OPENING SET

Mountain Empire Gymnastics & Dance will open a new gymnastics training center here in Smyth County Friday with a free gymnastics and dance exhibition at 6:30 p.m.

Suzy Sukle, program director, said the facility will be one of the best equipped in Southwest Virginia. Lisa May is head coach and Andrea Rabago, dance director.

The new 8,000-square-foot building opened for classes earlier this year, and was a goal sought by Marion Gymnastics when it incorporated more than seven years ago. The program has grown from 26 students the first year to 175 this year.
