\ MERIDA, YUCATAN, MEXICO - S. Carl Jaspan, age 92, died Friday, April 27, 1990, at his home in Mexico. He was a resident of Roanoke for 35 years. He taught violin and other string instruments in the public schools for 15 years. He was the first concertmaster of the Roanoke Symphony for 8 years. He also taught at Roanoke College and Hollins College. He is survived by his wife, Maria N. Jaspan of Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Maurita J. and Edward E. Wiggins, Roanoke; four grandchildren, Laurie, Mark, David and Lisa Wiggins. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Divine Science Church. The family requests that memorials be sent to the First Divine Science Church, 5000 Carriage Drive, Roanoke, Va., 24018.
