FESTIVAL CLASSIC RUN BEGINS REGISTRATION

Registration forms for the sixth annual Dominion Bank Festival Classic run are available now at all Dominion Banks and selected sporting goods stores and health clubs.

The 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) and 10-kilometer (6.2 miles) races will be held on Saturday, June 2, and are sponsored and directed by Dominion Bank in conjunction with Roanoke's Festival in the Park.

More than 250 prizes will be presented, including cash awards to the top three finishers in each race in men's and women's divisions.

More than 1,600 runners competed in last year's races. Steven Taylor of Fincastle won last year's 10K race with a time of 29 minutes, 49 seconds. Yoli Casas of Raleigh, N.C., won last year's women's 10K (35:59); Chris Fox of Hagerstown, Md., won the men's 5K (14:32); and Monica O'Reilly of Knoxville, Tenn., won the women's 5K (16:38).

Both runs are out-and-back courses starting and ending in front of the Dominion Bank Building in downtown Roanoke. Starting times for the races are 8 a.m. for the 5K and 9 a.m. for the 10K.
