\ CHRISTIANSBURG - William C. Hobbs, age 81, of 106 Roanoke St., died Saturday, April 28, 1990, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of Radford Army Ammunition Plant with twenty-six years of service. Prior to that, he had served as a principal in the West Virginia school system. He was a member of Main Street Baptist Church where he was a life deacon, McDaniel Lodge No. 86 A.F. & A.M., and the Christiansburg Lions Club, where he had served as president in 1977 and 1978. Surviving are his wife, Renavae H. Hobbs; a son, William C. Hobbs, Jr., Christiansburg; a daughter, Margaret Tuttle, Newburgh, Ind.; two sisters, Grace Mae Hobbs, Beckley, W. Va.; Maymie Biggs, Bluefield, W. Va.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Speciale, James Henderson, both of Newburgh, Ind.; William C. Hobbs, III, Barton A. Hobbs, both of Westchester, Pa. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the Main Street Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Peter DuPlessis and Dr. Charles Taylor with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Box 176, Christiansburg 24073. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 Monday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
