RESIDENTS CALL JUSTICE HOUSE WONDERFUL PLACE

WE ARE MEMBERS of the Justice House Community. We live at Justice House by choice, not out of necessity. It is our home, we are a family. For some of us it is the first decent home we've had; the first stable and caring family and home life we've experienced.

To say that Justice House is a cult (letter April 13) is totally preposterous; to believe such is ludicrous. Cults preach of a certain human leader as a God-like figure; at Justice House we are all God's children, free and equal in all respects.

In cults, you must give all your money and worldly possessions to the leader; at Justice House we are shown that sharing with the less fortunate is the Christian thing to do, and we are allowed to make our own decisions.

People come to Justice House in need of food and shelter, but they receive much more. They rediscover lost hopes and ambitions. They learn to overcome fear and desperation and begin to live as self-respecting people again. They are taught to push aside the humiliation and hold their heads high once again, for no one is any "better" than anyone else.

Our children grow up with qualities instilled in them far beyond their years. They possess the courage to overcome hardships. They are raised with love and dignity so that they understand Christian charity and compassion, and they respect their fellow man.

David and Suzanne Hayden go out of their way to help anyone and everyone in need. They've dedicated their entire lives to rebuilding broken people and mending lost souls. The majority of the Justice House Community has experienced the type of devastation that can't be overcome alone, and David and Suzanne have always been there.

With much regret and sadness we read the negative articles about our home. If Justice House had not been there, many of us would be homeless and hopeless; our children would be in foster homes. Justice House is a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
