BLACKSBURG UNDERPASS TO BE CLOSED MONDAY

Virginia Tech officials have announced the closing of the underpass below the U.S. 460 bypass near Smithfield Plantation Monday. The underpass will be closed for repairs for two months.

Bracing will be installed in the underpass during the repairs. When the construction is completed, the underpass will have height and weight restrictions. Transportation officials expect the height to be restricted to 10 feet and the width restricted to 12 feet. Restrictions will be posted when the project is completed.
