FERRUM PLACES FIVE ON ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Ferrum College has five players on the 1990 All-Dixie Conference baseball team, including three first-team selections.

Second baseman Eric Owens, outfielder Rusty Lang and designated hitter Heath Burcher made the first team, and starting pitcher Darren Hodges and reliever Scott Clawson were second-team choices.

Burcher led Ferrum with 13 home runs and 39 RBI. Owens hit .393 with 22 walks; he scored a team-high 31 runs. Lang led Ferrum with 10 doubles and hit .331. - Staff report
