STEEL COMPANY'S FOUNDER DIES AT 65

Ernest Coleman Bolling, founder and chief executive officer of Structural Steel Co. of Roanoke, died of cancer Wednesday in a Roanoke hospital. He was 65.

Bolling started the company 34 years ago, providing steel for Valley View Mall, the Marriott and Sheraton hotels and many other Roanoke Valley buildings. He had been treasurer and a Sunday school teacher at Patterson Memorial Grace Brethren Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline R. Bolling; a son, Jim S. Bolling, Roanoke.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Oakey's North Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of the American Heart Association.
