\ Edgar G. Parker, age 84, of Virginia Beach, and formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday afternoon in a Virginia Beach hospital. Mr. Parker, a native of Conneaut, Ohio, retired in 1970 as Assistant Controller of Norfolk & Western Railway following a forty four year career with N&W and the former Nickel Plate Railroad. He lived for forty years in Cleveland, Ohio. After his retirement, he moved to Roanoke where he was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of fifty three years, Pauline Wilson Parker, Virginia Beach; a son, Richard Wilson Parker, Virginia Beach; a daughter, Dolly Corbitt, Columbus, Ohio; and five grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted from the graveside, Evergreen Burial Park, at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Jesse M. Bratton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
