Steger, a Richmond native, is one of 62 architects nationwide to receive the honor.
He became dean in 1981.
His accomplishments include help in expanding the Washington-Alexandria Center; building the Research and Demonstration Facility; two Excellence in Teaching awards, and helping to organize architecture schools in Saudi Arabia and Iceland.
\ JOHN HOSNER, associate dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, has been named a member of the board of directors for the Global Climate Change Initiative of the Southern Appalachian Man and the Biosphere, a regional organization working for a balanced use of the Earth's resources.
Hosner, director of the School of Forestry, will help devise a number of strategies to promote knowledge and understanding of the natural resources of the region.
\ F.W. STEPHENSON will become head of the Harry Lynde Bradley Department of Electrical engineering on July 1.
He is associate dean of engineering for research and graduate studies.
\ DAVID F. KIBLER, professor of civil engineering at Pennsylvania State University, will direct the Charles E. Via Jr. department of civil engineering effective July 1.
\ Recipients of the Women's Research Institute's 1990 research awards are JENNIFER ALEXANDER-TERRY, KATHERINE ALLEN, CHARLENE BROWNE, MARGIE J. GEASLER, LINDA PLAUT, VICTORIA BOND, KATHLEEN J. SIKKEMA and JUDY BAROKAS.
\ MARY LEE MEADOWS, a junior in hotel, restaurant and institutional management, has been accepted for a management training position at the Sheraton Goteborg Hotel in Goteborg, Sweden for summer 1990.
The position was arranged through the American-Scandanavian Foundation in Washington.
