RADFORD HOSPITAL UNIT PLANS OPEN HOUSE MAY 20

An open house and tour of the extended care unit at Radford Community Hospital will be held May 20, 2-4 p.m., in conjunction with National Nursing Home Week.

The extended care unit, which has been expanded and enhanced, functions similar to a free-standing nursing home and offers individuals a place to recover, rehabilitate or stay while making other living arrangements. Residents of the unit participate in group activities and have access to a beautician and whirlpool bath.

The unit also offers intermediate and skilled level nursing home care and in late 1990, 12 additional skilled beds will be opened.
