PRESERVATION WORKSHOP PLANNED

A workshop on building codes for historic buildings and other aspects of preservation is planned May 16 at 20 E. Church Ave. in the Roanoke City Market Historic District. Preregistration by May 11 is required for the seminar, which is free. To register, contact the Roanoke Regional Preservation Office at 703-857-7585.

Among the speakers will be Hugh Miller, director, Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and John Wells, architectural historian for the department. Also on the program is Gibson Worsham, a preservation architect from Christiansburg, Ron Miller, buiding commissioner for Roanoke, and Jack Proctor, director of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development.
