SOUTHSIDE GARDENERS RECEIVE AWARDS

The Southside Garden Club received numerous awards at its May meeting, held at the Northside Presbyterian Church.

The garden club received a Standard of Excellence Award, an award for a garden therapy project and three certificates for contributing to the state headquarters fund, staging a standard flower show and for contributing to world gardening.

Club members voted to make a contribution for construction of the Friendship Garden at the U.S. Arboretum in Washington, and adopted the New Guinea impatiens, yellow sweet pepper and Roma tomato as horticulture projects for the coming year.
