Because incorrect information was provided to the newspaper, the listing of the All Roanoke Valley District soccer team in Wednesday's paper contained errors. Thad Gilmer of Cave Spring should have been listed on the second team and Trey Burnley of Cave Spring on the first team.
\ Because of a copy editor's error in Wednesday's editions, Northside High School tennis player Aaron Church was incorrectly identified in a story on the Blue Ridge District tournament. Michelle Monsour's doubles partner for the Vikings also was incorrectly identified. Church plays doubles with Monsour.
\ Gov. Douglas Wilder said Tuesday that he might consider using money from the state's contingency fund to pay for shutting down the Kim-Stan landfill. Because of an editor's error in a story in Wednesday's paper, Wilder was incorrectly quoted as saying the money could be obtained from an environmental group. Because of a reporter's error in that story, the name of one of the dump's owners was incorrect. The owners are Jerry Wharton, Shelcy Mullins Sr., William Stover and Jim Taylor.
