\ Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Shipman, age 60, of 1742 Dunbar St., N.W., passed away Wednesday in a local hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Clay and Brenda Gail Shipman, both of Roanoke; four grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Swain and Mag Andrews, both of Vinton; one son-in-law, Alvin Clay, Roanoke; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Shipman, Roanoke; a devoted friend, Richard Harris, Roanoke; nieces; nephews and other relatives; and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Jordan officiating. Interment in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Hamlar-Curtis, Morticians.
