\ Gladith Roosevelt Meadows, age 89, of 5832 Sierra Dr., Roanoke, formerly of Glen Lyn, Va., died Wednesday, May 9, 1990, in Community Hospital. He was born in Mercer County, W.Va., on February 28, 1901, and was the son of the late Emory and Laura Davis Meadows. He attended the House of Prayer in Roanoke and was preceded in death by his first wife, Cover Meadows in 1979, a son, Edward Meadows in 1977, a daughter, Margaret Cannaday in 1975, and his stepmother, Rose Meadows in 1989. He is survived by one son, Charles E. Meadows, Glen Lyn; two daughters, Mrs. Augusta Lather, Columbus Grove, Ohio; Mrs. Virginia Barton, Roanoke; three half brothers, Randolph Meadows, Glen Lyn; Scott Meadows, Peterstown, W.Va.; Jimmy Meadows, Narrows; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Morrison, Princeton, W.Va.; four half sisters, Earnestine Crawford and Geraldine Whitt, both of Glen Lyn; Betty Brinkley, Roanoke; and Linda Graham, Peterstown, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel, in Narrows, with the Rev. John Ingram and the Rev. Robert Painter officiating. Burial will follow in the Rich Creek Cemetery, Rich Creek, Va. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
