CHAMBER OFFICIAL QUITS IN BRISTOL

The executive vice president of the Greater Bristol Chamber of Commerce will resign May 25 to pursue other job possibilities.

Jerry Pulliam, who was Bristol, Tenn., city manager for three years before taking the chamber position in mid-1988, gave no details as to his future plans.

"In evaluating my future at the chamber of commerce, it was my feeling that in order to achieve my personal goals I needed to pursue other options that are available to me," he said.

Chamber President Marie Williams said she was accepting Pulliam's resignation with regret. The chamber's executive committee will work with its staff until a new executive vice president is named.

The chamber was recognized this year as one of 12 in the nation to receive 25th-year reaccreditation by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. Pulliam traveled to Washington, D.C., earlier this month, where the chamber was recognized in a ceremony attended by President Bush.
