WBLB'S SPRING HOME STARTS THURSDAY AT THE MALL

REMOTES: WBLB holds its 1990 Spring Home Show at the New River Valley Mall Thursday through May 20. Space is still available for businesses. Call 980-3411 or 800-924-WBLB for details on how to get involved. It's free to the public.

WKEX will feature spots all day today during its auction to benefit the station. Souvenirs from country stars - such as autographed records and tapes from Dolly Parton, Randy Travis and the Oak Ridge Boys - will go on the block at the Holiday Inn in Blacksburg 1-4 p.m. Other items such as furniture, clothing and jewelry will also be for sale.

Today, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., WVVV broadcasts live from Goody's in Christiansburg.

On Thursday, 6-7 p.m., WPSK's Rich Freeman will interview the stars of the Triple Valley Rodeo. The rodeo will be broadcast live from the New River Valley Fairgrounds all weekend beginning Friday at 3 p.m.

WKEX will be at a pancake breakfast fund-raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at Townside Realtors in Blacksburg Friday, 6-9 a.m.

WFNR plans a walkathon May 19 to benefit the Bennetts, who are paying for a family member's heart transplant. Sponsors and walkers can call 382-6106 or 731-1594.

\ LIVE: WPUV's "Gospel Express" today, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., includes "June Draper's Wonderful World of Country Music the Way It Was" at 10 a.m., the Famous Max Mountain Gospel Singers at 12:30 p.m. and "Banded Hub Hoedown" at 1 p.m. with the Harvest Time Singers and the Dixie Gray Band.

Today is WBLB's "Kid's Break with Enock Flake" at 3 p.m. Enock makes personal appearances and sells cassettes of the show for $5.

WPUV airs preacher Rev. Don Crowder's "Harvest Revival" Sunday, 6 a.m.-noon.

\ BASEBALL: WKEX covers Virginia Tech at Southern Mississippi today at 7:20 p.m. and Sunday at 2:50 p.m. WKEX will cover the Metro Tournament starting Wednesday in Southern Mississippi. Game times to be announced.

\ RACES: WJJJ airs the GM Parts 300 from Pennsylvania at 12:45 p.m. today.

WRAD and WRIQ cover NASCAR Daytona Dash Cars racing from Pulaski Speedway at 6:45 tonight.

WPSK's prerace "Fast Lane '90" tonight, 5-7, at Pulaski County Speedway offers interviews and track and weather conditions prior to the NASCAR race.

\ COUNTRY: On WPSK this week: "All Request Saturday Night" will take calls tonight on 633-1071 from Montgomery County and on 980-1071 from elsewhere. "Bob Kingsley's Country Countdown," 6-10 p.m. Sunday, plays America's top 40 hits.

A George Strait special is set for 7 p.m. Monday on WKEX. The "Ralph Emery Show" is weekdays at 2:30 p.m. on WKEX and at 10:30 a.m. on WRAD.

"Country Crossroads" is broadcast on WRAD Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and on WKEX Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

\ JAZZ: WVRU's "Jazz Notes" airs Friday at 7 p.m. and "Mellow Tones" is 9-11 a.m. Sunday.

WVRU's "Long Live Rock" Monday at 9 p.m. features the first part of an Aerosmith series with host Jim Newberne.
