PULASKI TREASURER GARY CUTLIP RESIGNS

Town Council accepted the resignation of the town's treasurer/finance director in a special meeting here Thursday.

Gary Cutlip, 43, has held the office since November 1982.

Town Manager Don Holycross said Cutlip's resignation, which was effective May 4, indicated only that Cutlip was resigning.

"Nothing else was in the letter," Holycross said.

Cutlip declined to comment on the reasons for his resignation Friday morning.

Cutlip was in charge of the town treasurer's office and all financial operations of the town, Holycross said.

Mildred Bolen, who was assistant treasuer, was appointed to take Cutlip's place until a replacement is appointed.

Council members authorized Holycross to begin a search for a new finance director.

"We'll focus primarily on advertising locally and statewide," Holycross said. "I expect will receive some applications from out of state, too."

Holycross said the salary range for the position is $25,400 to $33,600.
