IMAGINE HUMANS PUT IN ANIMALS' ROLE

CONCERNING the article by Paxton Davis May 4 about animal-welfare activists:

I do not believe any clear-thinking person equates the life of a rabbit with the life of a child. I do not address this issue.

We force horrendous experiences upon helpless creatures. We know they cannot defend themselves; we are superior so we are free to exploit.

Davis is smug in his superiority; I ask him one question. If individuals should ever come here from another planet who were intellectually superior to us and against whom we had no defense, would he apply the same reasoning?
