ROANOKE BROTHERS DIE IN TWO-VAN CRASH IN BEDFORD COUNTY

Charlie Lee Taylor, 57, of Lynwood Road, and David Ralph Taylor, 53, of Orange Avenue Northwest, died in the 12:20 a.m. crash near Thaxton.

Charlie Taylor was driving and his brother was a passenger in one of two westbound vans that sideswiped, state police said.

Taylor's van skidded and overturned, throwing both brothers out. They died at the scene.

The other van ran off the right side of the road, overturned and burned. The driver, Hughston Gatewood Wright, 48, of South Padre Island, Texas, was released after treatment at a hospital, according to Trooper D.M. Beckner.
