OBIT ATKINSON, C.

Cloetta Sue Collins Atkinson, age 89, of Pulaski, died Sunday night in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Pembroke, Va., May 27, 1900, and was a daughter of the late William James Collins and Olivia Ann Scott Collins. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira S. Atkinson, Sr.; her son, I. S. (Pete) Atkinson, Jr.; her grandson, Gerry J. Atkinson. Surviving are one sister, Gertrude Fortney, Wadsworth, Ohio; two grandsons, David Atkinson, Pulaski; Rodney Atkinson, Roanoke; 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, with Dr. James Sorrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery, Galax. Visiting will be Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. The family wishes that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Pulaski.
